Americana Featured Artist:

The Jenny Vincent Trio

This trio plays traditional folk and dance songs from northern New Mexico and is made up of Jenny Wells Vincent, Audrey Davis and Rick Klein.

At 90, musician Jenny Wells Vincent is a "living treasure" recognized for her musical contributions and unstinting efforts to preserve the rich musical culture of New Mexico and the Southwest.

Jenny, a musician who plays several instruments, became immersed in the culture of New Mexico after becoming a full-time resident in 1940 and began learning the music enjoyed by the local people.

Her dedication to folk music has landed her on many stages and has helped foster friendships with folk legends such as Pete Seeger. Vincent still spends time on stage, mostly playing the traditional New Mexico folk songs she loves with the Jenny Vincent Trio.

Audrey Davis is a classically trained violinist who has taught mariachi violin to high schoolers in northern New Mexico. She also has taught children the Suzuki Method of Violin for more than 20 years.

Rick Klein used to focus on drumming - he played with the Orienta Blue Streaks, The Taos Jazz Quartet, The Taos All-Stars and the TZ Wright Band - but for the last decade he has worked mainly as a guitarist accompanying fiddlers from Taos to Texas.

Revolution is sending the sounds of undiscovered artists echoing across the music landscape.
This is about the freedom to create and be heard - to expose people to music they don't even know they want to hear - to give them the chance to discover. By working with independently owned businesses, visual artists, musicians and KTAO 101.9FM, the worlds most powerful solar radio station, we are able to present original songs released by independent musicians the way they wanted, not how some big record company thinks they should sound.

"The Revolution Collection - Americana" is the third in a series from Revolution featuring the work of independant artists. Future Revolution collections include Native American, Hispanic, Rock as well as Country, Jazz and more.
